Good For Good

A Faith Memoir

Available November 12, 2026

Dorci Cerrato asked God to rebuild her life on a foundation of gratitude. She had no idea He would begin by dismantling the foundation she had built for herself.

Good for Good follows Dorci through a period when nearly everything she believed made her life secure was challenged. Cancer changed her relationship with her body and mortality. Recovery forced her to confront patterns of control and codependency. Letting go of her adult children meant learning that loving them did not mean rescuing them. And when devastating grief arrived, the life she had worked so hard to hold together could no longer be held together at all.

What emerged was not the life Dorci had planned. It was a deeper surrender—an acceptance of what could not be changed, a willingness to receive the love of Jesus rather than continually trying to earn love, and a gratitude that became more than something she practiced.

Told with raw honesty, humor, and faith, Good for Good is the story of what can happen when we stop insisting that we know how our lives should be built—and finally allow ourselves to become the building.
